Why My Classes Are Different—And Why That Matters
I know yoga. I’ve been teaching it full-time for over a decade, and I’ve studied it even longer. But let’s get one thing straight: what I teach is probably not what comes to mind when you hear the word “yoga.”
There are no playlists. There’s no mirroring me on screen. There’s no anonymous sweating in a room full of strangers.
What I offer is education. Attention. A relationship.
In my interactive classes, I see you. Literally—there are usually just six to eight students in the room, so my eyes are on you the entire time. I know your hip replacement history, your fear of falling, your shoulder that gets cranky when you sleep weird. I also know what’s working well, and how to build on it.
That’s what makes these classes different: they’re personal. They’re not “follow the leader.” They’re not pre-recorded sessions pretending to be live. And they’re not about performing yoga poses for the sake of the exercise. They’re about feeling better, moving better, living better.
The Power of Consistency & Community
Because most students come regularly, I get to know them—and they get to know each other. There's a rhythm and rapport that builds over time. That familiarity lets me tailor each session, offer personalized feedback, and build on what we’ve already worked on. It’s a relationship. It’s community. It’s the opposite of transactional.
Sometimes I demonstrate poses. More often, I’m sitting in front of the screen, observing closely, offering specific cues, and using another student’s body (with permission) to teach something important. This is teaching in the truest sense—not entertainment, not exercise content. It’s about you learning, not just sweating or stretching.
What I Teach
I teach Iyengar Yoga and Functional Movement, two modalities grounded in precision, adaptability, and deep understanding of the body. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or have never stepped foot on a mat, there’s something for you.
Here’s the weekly breakdown, but you can also check out my Class Descriptions:
Yoga Classes
Sunday Morning – Advanced Yoga
For experienced students looking to deepen their practice. Inversions, arm balances, backbends, and restorative work. We use chairs, walls, couches—whatever supports learning and depth.
Monday Morning– Foundational Yoga
A 50-minute class designed for beginners, people in pain, those who feel stiff or intimidated. It’s inclusive, clear, and creative—no props required.
Tuesday Evening – All Levels Yoga
Open to all who are ready to move. Not quite beginner, not advanced. It’s a smart, strong, balanced practice for a wide range of students.
Functional Movement & Strength
Tuesday Afternoons – Strength (Pilates-Inspired)
Focused on utility: balance, leg strength, posture, core strength. It’s not about aesthetics—it’s about moving through life with ease and longevity.
Tuesday Evenings - Cardio (Alignment-based)
Circuit-style High-Intensity-Interval-Training with a mix of traditional “boot-camp style” exercises as well as yoga-inspired exercises. Lighthearted and challenging in all the right ways. All bodies welcome.
Wednesday Morninsg - Cardio (Functional Movement)
Similar to Monday’s yoga, but rooted in movement education rather than asana. We unpack patterns, strengthen weak links, and build resilience.
Mindfulness Classes
Mondays + Wednesdays Mid-day (Right after movement)
Fifteen minutes of guided nervous system reset. Breathwork, recovery, embodiment—not just closing your eyes and hoping for the best. These classes are grounded in a physiological understanding of stress and designed to help you actually feel different. No props needed—just real tools for real life.
The Bigger Picture
What I teach is about more than the hour we spend together. It’s about empowering you to move better, feel better, and live more fully. It’s about understanding your body, not outsourcing it or punishing it. It’s about building a relationship with a teacher who knows you, sees you, and can help guide your path—not just for today, but for the long term.
This isn’t a drop-in workout. This is a commitment to yourself. This is learning.
Ready to Join?
There are several ways to take class, but I highly recommend the All-Access Membership. It’s $140/month and includes:
Unlimited access to all 8 weekly classes
Full access to replays
Entry to my on-demand video library
Personal guidance and evolving instruction over time
At just over $7 per class (if you take three classes a week), it’s one of the most affordable and holistic ways to prioritize your body, your health, and your nervous system.
More than anything, it encourages consistency—the thing that actually makes the difference.
Final Word
This is not about perfect poses or six-packs. It’s about the ability to get up off the floor without your hands. It’s about breathing better, recovering faster, standing taller. It’s about learning how to be in your body—safely, intelligently, and with guidance that meets you where you are.
So if you're ready to be seen, supported, and challenged in a way that’s honest, kind, and deeply effective—let’s get started.
